Armorers created blackened steel in the Renaissance with linseed oil. They heated the steel and applied the oil in much the same fashion described by "grahame-white" above. Hi Beverly, Some families do not have hosting properties and are intentionally independent or "stand alone" families. After loading the family, you can add a reference plane for the element to host to, which I think this is the quickest solution. Revit prefers native Revit objects. It's best practice to avoid importing from AutoCAD if at all possible. If it's something like an MEP RCP, use link CAD (and consider Current View Only as well) instead of import CAD. Why is this Not showing up in elevation?
This isn't showing up in the elevations. It does show up in plan. I have verified that plumbing fixtures, furniture and special equipment is showing in all view templates. It is listed as a plumbing fixture.
