The contractor will be drafting. You will learn exactly how buildings (prob houses) go together and the things that contractors want to have happen. It probably won't be on architect designed buildings. It will be a good technical-and "other side of the table" education. Other architects may see this as "lesser" experience and by proxy assume... 1 More Answer

I am in the same boat. A LA stamp does not carry much weight. Usually if a stamp is required for anything a civil is required not a LA. Yes you need a LA license to work on public projects in most states, but you can also work under the guise of a "public artist" or a "urban designer" and team up with a LA should those opportunities ever pop...

You could try arguing that the 5' dedication is a hardship and that you should be allowed to count that square footage as part of your RFA. your plan checker can grant that depending on why the city wants the 5' dedication. Otherwise you are probably screwed. My next question would be, can you deduct that 5' dedication from your prevailing se... 1 More Answer

Software does not make one a good, or even moderately competent architect. It's just a tool like any other and unless you have real-world experience running BIM projects, your skill level and experience can't be worth much. Best to seek entry into large, even multidisciplinary, offices that utilize all the good stuff BIM has to offer. 1 More Answer
What's good architecture to you? Is there even such thing as good architecture? Does architecture have a bigger role to play in society than the one it is currently playing?
Good architecture is always a judgment relative to the priorities and background of whoever is judging it. I don't really see a point to making an absolute determination of good architecture, and I don't use architecture to mean buildings of a superior quality relative to ordinary ones. 1 More Answer

Who would your target client be, exactly? Hospitals/ Med Centers? Tough to imagine a small startup firm breaking in there. Or would you be consulting to larger HC-oriented firms you've already been working for? That seems a bit likelier. Better yet might be going after developers of med office buildings. 1 More Answer
