Brendan Joseph is a young Irish designer weaving scarves by hand from only the most precious natural fibres of silk, cashmere and linen.
Brendan was recently selected for Creative Island 2015 by Design and Craft Council of Ireland, and in 2014 and 2012 he was shortlisted for CCOI FutureMakers Award. In 2013 he was nominated as Accessory Designer of the Year at the Irish Fashion Innovation Awards, as well being a featured designer in charity fashion show VSO Chic @ Shelbourne, also exhibiting that year at the RDS National Craft Competition and its travelling exhibition. In 2011, Brendan won the prestigious Golden Fleece Award Merit Prize.
His handwoven 'heirloom' scarves have been featured in the Irish Times, Irish Examiner, Galway Now Magazine, Sunday Business Post and Sunday Independent as well as on many design and lifestyle blogs online. The new Brendan Joseph Signature of Ireland collection compliments the heirloom range and brings the core elements of what 'Brendan Joseph' is all about - the source of Ireland, the art of storytelling, the quality of materials & workmanship. They take you on a journey of discovery to captivating sensory sources, such as Killiney Hill, Howth Head, the Wicklow Mountains, and the banks of the Liffey at night. Each signature scarf & bow-tie is machine-loomed & hand-made in Ireland from 100% silk, starting at €89 for bow-ties, €189 for signature scarves. These are available for sale internationally at BrendanJoseph.com and at Dublin's five-star Dylan hotel.
