Durulite Retailer doors are constructed with rotationally molded rotationally molded polyethylene, making them extremely durable and capable of withstanding the wear and tear associated with sales-to-back room and walk-in cooler openings in high volume retail establishments.

  • Door Panel - It is lightweight, opens easily and closes every time. Overall panel thickness is 1-1/2", skin thickness is 1/8" and the door can be sized up to a 8" x 10". Rotationally molded polyethylene outer skin retains its properties to -40°F.
  • Insulated Core - High density, Non-CFC urethane core is foamed-in-place to ensure a tenacious bond between the core and outer skin, providing sound abatement and excellent thermal separation with an R factor of 9.86.
  • Internal Reinforcement - A 1" diameter hinge post is molded in the door and runs the full length of the panel. The hinge post sets into the jamb guard for structural stability and strength. The leading edge is reinforced with an aluminum extrusion adding additional structural support.
  • Gasketing - Replaceable perimeter edge gasketing is used to reduce energy flow between environments. The door comes standard with a gasket along the leading, back and bottom edges. Partially gasket doors are available.
  • Upper Hinge - Patented v-cam hinge system can travel up to 120 degree in each direction.
  • Lower Hinge Assembly - The lower hinge assembly holds the lower hinge post in position, preventing horizontal movement of the door. It also serves as a lower hinge guard, protecting the lower hinge post from impact damage.
  • Window - Large polycarbonate windows are virtually scratch resistant.

Chase Doors is the world's oldest, largest, and most progressive manufacturer of double-acting impact traffic doors and specialty doors. Chase Industries, Inc., founded by Chase Blum in 1932, began its operation as an insulated walk-in cooler and specialty refrigeration equipment manufacturer. Shortly after, Chase pioneered the original flexible AirGard™ Door with its unique top-mounted-only gravity hinging system. That door is still on the job today in food processing, industrial manufacturing and retail stores. Since then, Chase has expanded its line of doors to include impact traffic doors, double-acting swing doors, strip curtains, pvc vinyl rolls, corrosion resistant doors, fiberglass doors, cold storage door, sliding fire doors, sliding service doors, pharmaceutical doors, bug screen doors, vinyl roll-up doors, industrial curtains, and air doors.

Through the years Chase has evolved their manufacturing processes to become more efficient and consistent. CNC routers and punch presses for cutting and drilling wood, metal and plastics, conveyor systems for faster throughput, a metal component powder coating line, several multi-arm rotational molding machines, and a flexible PVC extruding line was added. These and other automated processes allow Chase to provide door to door consistencies and cost savings that are passed onto our customers. The longevity and reliability of our products is assured by continuous, rigorous testing on our custom designed door impact testing system.

In 1986, Chase Industries acquired Durus Industries, manufacturer of Durulite® Doors. Durulite Doors were the world's first rotationally molded cross-linked polyethylene door and to date over 400,000 panels are in use. Seven years later, in 1993, Chase acquired Saino Manufacturing, producer of Sliding Fire and Service Doors. Since 1899 Saino has been the recognized leader in the sliding fire door industry. In 1905, Saino invented the world's first corrugated steel fire door. More than a century later, Saino is still producing the best performing fire doors available. In 1997, Chase acquired Econo Max Manufacturing. Not only did this acquisition allow Chase to expand our line of traffic doors, but also gave us the opportunity to extrude our own flexible PVC strip material. In 2007, Chase acquired Staples & Stevens. The addition of Staples & Stevens cold storage doors to Chases' existing door line allows Chase to provide a complete package of complimentary products to cold storage contractors, distributors, dealers, box manufacturers and end users in both the industrial and retail markets. Also, in 2007 Chase opened a sales and manufacturing office in China to service the Asian market. Then, in 2009, Chase acquired Fib-R-Dor™, a manufacturing company that specializes in beautiful gel coated fiberglass doors.
