BIM & Window Manufacturers

How does BIM affect window & door manufacturers??

We've been working with a couple of window & door manufacturers recently, they've noticed the move to BIM (building information modeling) software & have wondered how the growing use of Revit & ArchiCAD will affect them. As well as the best way for them to profit from it!

One thing we point out is that these BIM software ship with good parametric window & door families/objects, so there is no point in reinventing the wheel. Rather we help them to identify what unique products their company offers and how these could be integrated to compliment the existing BIM content that ships with the program.

This could mean building BIM content (Revit families & ArchiCAD objects) for their unique skylight range or integrating their special handles and hardware range into the software.

You can see there are a number of great ways for them to get their products into the BIM process, don't let someone talk you into reinventing the wheel!
