DfMA -Design for Manufacture and Assembly
Definition:
DfMA is an engineering team approach that involves manufacturing and suppliers early in the design cycle of new building. Its objectives are to meet customer requirements while balancing cost, quality and performance. In this approach, components are manufactured and assembled in a controlled factory environment, prior to delivery to a construction site for installation.
Vision:
70% of the constructed asset delivered via DfMA
60% labour reduction 'on site'
30% programme reduction, reduced timescales and onsite labour requirements
Quality-Controlled environment leading to superior, predictable quality levels
Safety-fewer onsite operatives reducing risks in project delivery phases
