  • New OpenBIM Event: Build Qatar Live 2012
Upon the success of the Build London Live events (2008, 2009, 2012), Asite, AEC3 and buildingSMART MENA & India are launching a new OpenBIM event, Build Qatar Live 2012.

The 48 hour competition takes place from Tuesday, November 27th 2012 to Thursday, November 29th 2012 and is sponsored by Nemetschek Vectorworks.

The Build Live Events are undertaken through cloud-based collaboration so the event is open to worldwide participation. You can register on the Build Qatar Live 2012 website.

Build Qatar Live 2012 will have awards under three categories and will have prizes, including free software licences.

More information, including design brief and prizes available, will be announced shortly.

As Nathan Doughty, COO of Asite, stated, this event will help in preparation for the 2022 World Cup. This is beacuse construction is picking up pace in Quatar and many are looking to BIM to reduce costs, which Build Qatar Live 2012 could help demonstrate.

From all over the world BIM practitioners will be able show off their BIM knowledge, which is fantastic to see!
