Well done to Singapore's Gardens by the Bay who won this years World Building of the Year, the top prize at World Architecture Festival!

Wilkinson Eyre Architects won the award for the design of the Cooled Conservatories, but it was acknowledged that this was a team effort with the landscape architect Grant Associates and engineers Atelier One and Atelier Ten, also contributing to the fantastic design.

Swee Hong Engineering Construction Pte Ltd used BIM for Gardens by the Bay and TTJ Design and Engineering used Tekla BIM software to model the 18 giant steel and concrete trees in Supertree Grove. This is fantastic to see, such great and spectacular buildings using BIM!

In the Gardens of the Bay the two main Conservatories cover more than 20,000sq m, which is one of the largest climate-controlled glasshouses in the world. The Garden of the Bays features several attractions including the Flower Dome, Supertree Grove and Cloud Forest. The picture featured just above is of the 35m high waterfall in Cloud Forest. For more information and great images see the Gardens by the Bay website. This is definitely a place I would love to visit, fantastic architecture and unique buildings meets awesome plants!
